Is your browser or device incompatible?

Gatherly is currently supported on Google Chrome (preferred) as well as Firefox on laptop and desktop computers. Check the full requirements here.

Can't connect your microphone, speakers, or webcam?

  1. Try disabling extensions that may be interfering with Gatherly. An easy way to do this is to open Gatherly in Google Chrome's Incognito mode.

  2. Check that you don't have another video chat platform (Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc.) open on your computer. If you do, close them and refresh the Gatherly page.

  3. Try using headphones, if you have any available.

  4. Still facing issues? Make sure that your microphone, speakers, and webcam are functional on an alternative browser-based video chat app, like Google Hangouts.

Facing poor connectivity?

  1. Try turning off your webcam. While not ideal, this can help to conserve bandwidth.

  2. If possible, try moving closer to your router, switching to a wired connection, or even using a hotspot. Here's a video with WiFi tips we generally recommend.

On a corporate network?

  1. Contact your corporate IT department for assistance.

  2. Turn off your corporate VPN if it's not required for the meeting.

Having issues screen sharing?

  1. If you're on a Mac, follow Apple's troubleshooting guide.

    1. Still facing issues? Here's another guide from Apple that could help, particularly if you are facing issues when choosing to share your entire screen on Google Chrome.

  2. Try disabling extensions that may be interfering with Gatherly. An easy way to do this is to open Gatherly in Incognito mode.
